Hi,
I am a descendant of Conrad & Christiana Brakmann Schnelle. Years ago, a book was published about this family. A small synopsis of Conrad's life was given. It mentions his first stop after coming to the U.S., as Wheeling, West Virginia. Look below for the text.
It could be our people are related. Do you have anything specific in Germany (a place)?

Kim

On Jan. 14, 1787 Johann Conrod Schnelle was born in the village of Buckleburg,
Kingdom of Hannover, Germany.

On Jan. 10, 1803, his future wife, Hanne Sophie Christiane Brakmann (Christeana), was
born in the village of Lauenforde, Kingdom of Hannover, Germany.

In 1822 Conrod became a resident of Lauenforde and on May 5, 1822
he and Christeana were married there.

His occupation wasas a Master Shoemaker.

On Aug. 5, 1825, Mairie Louise (Louisa) was born in Lauenforde.

On Jan. 14, 1828, Aaron Frederick was born in Lauenforde.

On Aug. 25, 1830 Ernistine Louise Melousine (Melissa), was born.

On April 7, 1834, Adaline Josi Flinn Fridfresha was born in Lauenforde.

In the late summerof 1834 the family immigrated from Germany to the United States.

The boat trip over was terrifying and to his last days young
Aaron Frederick would have tears in his eyes when talking of
the trip. A storm at sea broke the mast and the ship drifted
back to shore about 200 miles from where they started. It appears that they then
transfered to another ship to continue the
trip to the United States.

Their first known residence was in Wheeling W. Va., then on to
Marietta, Ohio. Conrod continued his Shoemaking practice during this time.

On Feb. 6, 1836, Theodore was born in Wheeling W.Va., but his
birth record shows him as Friedrich Gustav.

On Jan. 14, 1843, Wilhelm Heinrich (William Henry), was born
near Stafford, Ohio.

On Nov. 26, 1846, John Conrad was born onthe same farm near
Stafford, Ohio.

On Oct. 19, 1854, William Henry died atage 11 yrs, 9 mos, 5 days.

In 1864 the family moved to Sullivan County, Missouri.

On Mar. 25, 1869 Conrod died at age 82, and was buried in the
old Pollock Cemetery.

On Mar. 4, 1873, Christeana died and was buried beside Conrod.

THE ISNER FAMILY.

The Isner Family. William Isner was the first of the
name to locate in Randolph, perhaps. He lived in the Yalley
in 1775 on lands adjoining the lands of Benjamin Wilson
(See Early Land Patents in another chapter, i Thomas Isner
applied for a pension in the year 1833 on the grounds that he
was an Indian spy in the Revolution. Michael Isner entered
190 acres of land in 1789 in Tygarts Valley. Michael Isner
was a member of the first grand jury in Randolph County in
1787.
Farmer, entrepreneur and longtime Randolph County resident J. Herman Isner is the subject of a feature story in the current issue of Goldenseal magazine, now on sale. The article titled, "Randolph County Cattleman Herman Isner," is written by Barbara Smith of Philippi, a former professor at Alderson-Broaddus College.
Born in 1918 at Kerens, Isner is descended from pioneer stock on both sides of his family. One of his ancestors, Henry Isner, fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant in 1774. Owen Triplett, Isner's great-great-grandfather on his mother's side, purchased 28,000 acres from George Washington, the article explains.
