Mitochondrial DNA

Mitochondrial DNA, that wee energy producing organelle,  is important as it is passed from mother to all children, and as such continues down the female line. It mutates slowly, and is responsible for production of our energy, ATP, from A-CoA. It has a lot to do with the glucose/fat ratio that is ideal for individual people.

Here is the way it shake out for Merris, Albert and myself.

---Ann Maxwell, b 1739 Ireland, m Sep 23, 1760 d 1810 Randolph Co, VA , Philadelphia, PA
---Katherine/Catherine Isner b 1763 m 1785 d Nov 1821
Randolph Co., VA Married John Phillips (b. 1760; d. Jul 1815, Randolph Co., VA) Dec 21, 1785, Harrison Co., VA
---Sarah Isner b 1780 Randolph Co. Va (her mother was 17),or 1782 in Elkins,WV1, and died 1854 in Randolph Co., VA m JACOB WEES, JR. September 19, 1799 in Elkins, Randolph Co.
---Hannah Weese b 1806 in Randolph Co., (W) VA, d August 08, 1888. She married WILLIAM MCLAIN.
---Martha MCLAIN, (Marth McLean 1833-1931) m. Joesph Teter Rohrbaugh b. 1831.
---Hannah Martha Rorabuugh 1859-1933
---Emma Constance Schenelle 1889-1980
and you know the remainder

So our Mitochondrial DNA is Irish. Now that is important, for the Irish are Celtic generally, and as such do better on a high fat / low carbohydrate. We are though to be are from the first batch of peoples that left Africa, some 40,000-50,000 years ago. The big bunch that came out 10,000 years ago pushed the first batch out of the Mediterranean area, and are much better adapted to eat wheat, and grains in general. But I digress.
