Frederick Ludwig Marsteller (son of Nicholas Marsteller and Elisabetha Crosmann) was born January 11, 1702 in Pfungstadt ,Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, and died October 15, 1753 in Trappe. Montgomery Co., Pa.. He married Anna Barbara Starck on January 10, 1728 in Pfungstadt, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany.

Frederick Ludwig Marsteller came to Philadelphia aboard the "Mortonhouse" in 1729 along with his cousins Johann Georg Crosmann and J. Georg Crosmann . All three settled in Trappe, where another cousin J. Nicholas Crosmann, had settled in 1718. Frederick or Friedrich Marsteller was elected deacon of the Providence Congregation upon the death Joh. Jacob Schrack in 1742 and shared with J. Nicholas Crosmann responsibility for building Augustus Church and the adjacent School house. He is buried along side. H. M. Muhlenberg.
